Was bit of a mad dash to get out the door this morning so arrived in Pots n Pans a little bewildered and in need of sustenance. Being 9am on a Sunday morning there wasn’t a lot going on but there like a beacon was one of my dad’s favourites – Greggs. A salty sausage roll and cup of tea and I was on my way.
One of the highlights of this journey so far has been visiting places I know well but seeing them from a completely different angle. I’ve never walked the foreshore in Prestonpans before or walked the length of Longniddry Bents. Both of which are definitely better viewed on foot.
I was met in Gullane by my trusty crew for the final leg of the walk into NB. Walking behind my mum was the first time I realised both my kids have overtaken her in height. Blink and you miss them. After the obligatory ice cream at Yellowcraigs it was a nature walk home to our own front door.
Over 140 miles walked so far… only one more leg of the John Muir Way to go…
Strava decided to flip out and have me swim from Cockenzie to Gosford – official distance travelled 16.3 miles.

Thank you for the lovely photos
