I don’t really have the words to fully articulate this one. So instead here’s what I posted online to finish the whole thing off…
I have walked 500 miles.
And here’s a picture of the moment 499 turned to 500 at the top of Easter Road (with my dad’s brother Ronnie, poking his head out behind me).
We took our final walk today, on my dad’s birthday. Starting from Leslie’s Bar where he enjoyed a pint after work, to the Meadows and our first family home, around Arthur’s Seat to Abbeyhill where he grew up and down Easter Road to our final destination, the home of his beloved Hibees.
This entire journey has propelled me through the darkest of times and brought me so much more than I ever imagined. All my love goes to those who have walked beside me along the way (both physically and metaphorically). Particularly my mum and Jonathan who’ve been with me every step. And to everyone who has so kindly donated to Parkinson’s UK bringing the total (mind blowingly) to just under £4000.
Happy Birthday Dad.

Ps. There wasn’t much sun today but I have included a pic from one of my final walks up Arthur’s Seat, of Sunshine on Leith in all its glory.
