Am pretty sure I’ve covered every conceivable walk in the local area but one that hasn’t been included so far (although I did cut across it as part of the JMW) is the Archerfield Estate. A spontaneous Monday decision led to this lovely walk with one of the first friends I met in NB when our babies were literally just finding their feet.
Had the fairy trail been around then, I’m sure I would have ventured down its paths but with two teenagers in the house this was the first time I’d actually made it down that way. However, it’s fair to say I wasn’t dreaming of fairies – more of getting inside the spa for a good hot stone massage a bit further down the road.
We kept on the main road down and had a good neb around the James Bond style houses at King’s Cairn before looping back up around the near deserted golf course and past Archerfield House. It was a route of full of homes – from fairy houses to children’s play houses, spanking new million pound homes to Churchill’s holiday home so it felt good to finish with a rainbow over the place we’ve made our home, North Berwick.
