Aberlady Nature Reserve

Having covered the majority of the easterly coastline as part of the John Muir Way, it was time to fill in a couple of gaps. The JMW route comes past the entry to the Aberlady Nature Reserve but doesn’t take you into it so I decided it was time to cross that bridge.

I must have driven past this spot over 1000 times in my life….

Narrow overhanging walkways followed by wide, flat vistas then up and over the sand dunes down to a shingle beach at Gullane Point. Cutting back inland past a couple of deer to Gullane and walking across the fields in reverse on the JMW. First circular route of all the walks so far.
