St Abb’s to Eyemouth

Back to St Abb’s which I have slightly fallen in love with. The town itself is pretty as a picture and it’s flanked on both sides by the most amazing coastline. Today we headed south to a hidden sandy beach called Coldingham Sands. Framed by around 50 beach huts, some of which are believed to be 100 years old. These sit in front of slightly incongruous, manicured gardens leading from a clifftop hotel/house and a couple of unexpectedly modern homes. It was quite an unexpected find on this walk and somewhere I’ll be returning to.

We had anticipated a bit of a clifftop walk today (similar to the last one into St Abb’s) but it turns out this stretch is about clifftop, down to beach, back up to clifftop, down to beach, back up to clifftop all the way. Good for the old quads. Not so good for the granny : )

Stopping for lunch in a field with a view seems to have become the norm. Something which reminds me of being a child and definitely something to carry through into 2021.
